SE*Cosmo’s Chinchilla är en registrerad uppfödning i föreningen CAS – Chinchilla Association Sweden.
Jag som driver uppfödningen heter Cosmo och bor tillsammans med min sambo i Skänninge, Östergötlands län. Jag har tidigare varit bosatt i Skåne och i Motala med min uppfödning, och deltar regelbundet på CAS utställningar.
Background
- The first litter was born in 2009
- Serious and structured breeding began in 2016–2017, through the purchase of chinchillas from other established breeders
- Utbildning inom föreningen påbörjades i samband med att CAS bildades 2017
- Registrerades april 2019
- Domarutbildning påbörjades augusti 2025
- Uppfödaransvarig sedan 2025
Mutations I work with
- Blue Slate – en ovanlig och relativt okänd mutation. Mitt huvudsakliga arbete är att utreda om det rör sig om en egen, distinkt mutation eller en variant av en redan existerande. Information om detta arbete kommer publiceras under avsnittet Blue Slate.
- RPA (Royal Persian Angora) - one of the more unusual mutations

- In addition to this, several of the more common colors are also represented in the breeding program
breeding philosophy
The breeding focuses on healthy animals with good temperament, suitable for breeding, exhibition, and companionship. Great importance is placed on finding the right home for each individual, and lifelong support is offered to all buyers.
Sales
Rehomed chinchillas are in some cases mediated, and are then sold with registration certificates (if a pedigree is missing) as well as a purchase agreement.
Chinchillas from our own breeding are always sold with a pedigree and sales contract.
