SE*Cosmo's Chinchilla was registered in CAS (Chinchilla Association Sweden) in April 2018.
My name is Cosmo, I run the breeding program, and I live with my partner just outside Skänninge in the county of Östergötland. I have previously lived in Skåne and Motala with my breeding, and I regularly participate in CAS exhibitions.
Background
- The first litter was born in 2009
- Serious and structured breeding began in 2016–2017, through the purchase of chinchillas from other established breeders
- Training within the association began in connection with this
Mutations I work with
- Blue Slate – an unusual and relatively unknown mutation. My main work is to investigate whether it is its own distinct mutation or a variant of a pre-existing one. Ongoing information about this work is published under the Blue Slate section.
- RPA (Royal Persian Angora) - one of the more unusual mutations
- Black Pearl – another unusual mutation
- In addition to this, several of the more common colors are also represented in the breeding program
breeding philosophy
The breeding focuses on healthy animals with good temperament, suitable for breeding, exhibition, and companionship. Great importance is placed on finding the right home for each individual, and lifelong support is offered to all buyers.
Sales
Rehomed chinchillas are in some cases mediated, and are then sold with registration certificates (if a pedigree is missing) as well as a purchase agreement.
Chinchillas from our own breeding are always sold with a pedigree and sales contract.
